2007 Original Watercolor paintings by Michelle Lightner

As with most artist, I tend to bounce between mediums.
I got burn out with the sculpting and decided to return to watercolors.
Below are some images of paintings I recently finished.

All paintings are done on Arches 300 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper
with Winsor&Newton, M.Graham, Grumbacher and Daniel Smith professional grade paints. ENJOY!

Yucca Plant

A yucca plant in my back yard.
Painting size = 11" X 14" unframed.

The opportunity to photograph and paint this plant from a reference photo was unusual for me.
The Yucca plant typically grows in warmer climates such as AZ and CA,
not in Idaho! I took the photo last summer and painted it this year.

Two very brilliant red and yellow roses.

Ruffled Iris

I love the Iris, and I tried to capture the white ruffled iris in this Macro.
